Walking Your Dog and The Secret Path

Here's some help and tips for walking your dog.

Don't

• Don't let your dog eat trash
• Don't let your dog go in puddles
• Don't let your dog pee on the pavement and bins
• Don't yank the lead too much, it will upset your dog

Do

• When your dog runs towards a puddle, trash, bin, etc pull the lead in a way of saying, "Don't do that.". When your dog turns around to face you with an ! above its head, that's your queue to awawd your dog with a treat to tell him/her that they did something good.
• When your dog does a poo make sure you pick it up
• Let your dog go on the grass patches to do its business. It doesn't always do that though, sometimes it will award you with a present!

When you go for a walk, you can go to these main places:

• Town
• Mountains
• Beach

As you probably know, you can go to the parks and the gyms.

You can also go to the shops that are there too.

But did you know there's a secret path?

It can be difficult to find, so keep your eyes peeled!

Only the lucky ones get to go there...

When you're on your walk, if it does appear, it will be in a random spot.

The sign looks like this

I'm here with one of my dogs, Blake.

So this is the sign.

As you can see, there is a person walking their dog and an arrow underneath.

The main difference about this sign to all the others is that it doesn't have a blue rim, it has a yellow rim.

So when you're walking your dog, always look out for this sign.

How To Get To The Secret Path

Simply lead your dog in the direction of the sign until it stops in front of it.

Then on your bottom screen a message will pop up which says,

Take the secret path?
No       Yes

Tap yes obviously!

So once you're there, you'll either have presents lying around and lots of patches of grass or presents and coloured cones.

At the Secret Path there are much more presents up for grabs.

Make sure you go through all the grass patches too because you might get a present!
I remember one time when I was there and I got a Piggy Bank.

I was a bit disappointed with this present and at Mr. Recycle it only sells for £5.
So I decided I may as well smash it to see if I get lucky with a higher amount than £5.
To my surprise, I got £100!

Pedometer

When you select the 'Pedometer' you carry your 3DS and walk with it.

The more steps you do, the more prizes you get!

I suppose if you weren't going out anywhere then you could just walk round in circles.

Okay, now for you people who can't be bothered to walk but still want prizes. (Including me!)

Just hold the 3DS in your hand and shake it.

Yes, it will make your hand ache.
But you can get some cool prizes!
If you shake it for 10 minutes you will have approximately 666 steps.

Here's advice on competitions!


 

When you come first in Ninendogs Cup competitions, you will recieve the following items:

Disc Competition - Victory Crown

Lure Coursing - Victory Collar

Obedience Trial - Victory Specs

 

Advice for Disc Competition, Lure Coursing and Obedience Trial

 

On the left is a Rainbow Flying Disc and on the right is a Rainbow Lure

In my opinion, I think these are better than the Pro Flying Disc and the Pro Lure

My dog, Trixie has come first in Nintendogs Cup Disc Competition, Nintendogs Cup Lure Coursing and Nintendogs Cup Obedience Trial.

You can find the Rainbow Flying Disc and Rainbow Lure at the second-hand shop, Mr Recycle.

When you have these items, you can exchange them for either the disc or the lure

 

You can find the materials when you go on walks :)

 

To get your dog really good at disc competitions and lure coursing, make sure you go to the park (it has to be empty) for disc practise and the gym for lure coursing.

Make sure you do a lot of training!

To win, once you have learned all these tricks you should revise over and over so that your puppy gets better and better.

Make sure you speak in the same tone of voice and reward your puppy with a treat when it does the trick you've asked it to.

You will have to do a lot of training for this because in the Nintendogs Cup you have to hold a certain trick for 9 seconds!

Here's how it goes:

Round 1: Handstand or breakdance or wave

Round 2: Hold a trick randomly selected for 9 seconds

Round 3: 3 tricks in a row

Round 4: Freestyle

 

For freestyle, I advise you do these tricks in order:
Howl

Handstand

Roll Over

Breakdance

Sit Up

Wave

 

Then with any spare time you have, do a quick trick which won't take long to do like sneeze for example.

 

Remember, in every competition you enter, make sure your puppy is fed, watered and washed.

 

Also, if you don't come first or you mess up in the competition, you can just switch the power off then go back on and try again.

Make sure that you feed and water your dog then save your game before you enter the competition.
